Jacob Hendrikse born at the Cape 1 Notes: In 1703 he murdered the shoemaker Jacobus van den Berg in a brawl. As a consequence of this he and his father were banned, the father for 25 years and Jacob for 50 years, and set as to Ceylon as a soldier. It would seem that he was allowed to marry Francina Coopman before departing, presumably because their was a child on the way or already born.
