Charles Samuel Fysh baptized 8 October 1832, Islington Union Independent Church died March 1877 buried March 1877, Kew Cemetery, Melb, Vic, Astl Notes: Charles FYSH migrated to Australia (Melbourne) where he married Mary Anne LUKE, sister of Maria LUKE who married his brother Frederick FYSH. (DLR Nov 1991) Charles Samuel FYSH arrived MELBOURNE 13 Dec 1855 aboard the "Neleus" as a Chief's Cabin passenger. Neleus was described as 1117 Tons departed London 13 Sep 1855 British Ports 1855 Oct-Dec Fiche 102> Material extracted from HAWTHORN Local History Room re activities of C S FYSH as prominent merchant in district (Valuation Books, Rates Books etc.) Refer "Hawthorn Peppercorns" Published by Brian Atkins, 100 Morang Road, Hawthorn 3122 for photo on pg 50 of store originally owned by C S FYSH also photo on pg 60 of "South Burke Standard" May 16 1862. Advertisement for C S FYSH store. From Family History File "FYSH Family" unsigned and uncredited notes on C S FYSH and local activities apparently written by a son. (DLR 6/93) Store owned by C S FYSH still stands on corner of Burwood Road and Power Street, Hawthorn. Now occupied by Real Estate Agent. (DLR 6/93) Death Vic BDM index fiche (GST Bellerive library) <1877-00664> Burial Also note burial of Hedley John FYSH (no age) 26 Jan 1875 Kew cemetery grave/book 4-16 and Hedley Mears FYSH age 11 weeks died 31 Oct 1867 same grave reference (possible sons). All in Kew cemetery. Further note that Mary Anne FYSH died 26 Aug 1867 (possible death result of childbirth).
