Barbara Magdalena Rogge 1 born 1784, Swellendam 2 baptized 2 July 1784, Cape Town 3 died between February and June 1814, (will dates) 4 will dated 17 February 1814 and filed 21 June 1814 5 Notes: When she and her husband made their joint will on the 17 February 1814 she was confined to bed by sickness and presumably died not long after for the will was filed with at the Orphan Chamber in June of that year. She made provision for her slave, Lea of the Cape, so that she would never be sold but would be looked after until her death by a member of the family of her choice, and she left her Large Dutch Bible with Copper fittings to her eldest daughter, Elsie..Although her baptism is in the Cape Town registers I suspect it was actually done in their home locality of Swellendam during a tour of duty by one of the Cape Town ministers, since the entry says it belongs under Tulbagh (Waveren) When she and her husband made their joint will on the 17 February 1814 she was confined to bed by sickness and presumably died not long after for the will was filed with at the Orphan Chamber in June of that year. Both of them were her cousins.
