Henry Billing
wheelwright (1777) 1
of Weasenham St. Peter 2
born circa 1720, (based on land transaction in manor court dated 1747)
died circa April 1788
will dated 7 February 1777
and proved 29 April 1788, Weasenham to Henry Billing, son of the testator
Notes:
On 6 October 1747, according to the court books of Weasenham
East Hall Manor, he obtained a piece of land from John Baly.

The land consisted of '1 acre and two roods in Weasenham St.
Peter, between the sometime land of Thos Earl of Leicester on
the East and John Baly in the West, Vicarage Lane on the North
and the road called Massingham Way on the South'.

On 12 December 1789 the records state that 'Henry Billling [died]
before this court [prev court 17 Dec 1787] died seized of ... diverse
lands ... holden of this manor by copy of court roll'.

And on 5 December 1797 his son, Henry Billing, was admitted to
these premises, described exactly as above.

Notes: On 5th Decmeber 1797 the court books of Weasenham East Hall
Manor record that Henry Billing was admitted after his father.

Now to this court comes Henry Billing the son of the said Henry Billing
deceased and produces here in the court the probate of the last will
and testament of the said Henry Billing his father which bears the date
7 February 1777 and in which the following words [complete trancript
of the will follows]: ' to Margaret my dear and loving wife all my land
lying and being in Weasenham St. Peter and Weasenham All Saints ..
then to my son Henry Billing'.

Henry Billing then immediately surrendered the land for the use of
Francis Crisp, gentleman (this means, no doubt, that he had sold
the land to that gentleman).
