Neeltje Slabbert 1 born 1685, Meliskerke 2 baptized 29 April 1685, Meliskerke, Walcheren, Zeeland 3 Notes: She and her husband are both described as deceased in the Floris Slabbert Inheritance Receipt (MOOC 8/4, 67). In this same document, bound in a folder apparently containing documents of circa 1727-31, she is said to have left five children who represent their deceased mother. The children are listed as given in the inventory drawn up in September 1764 after the death of Pieter Slabbert, and from the baptismal registers of the Cape Town Groote Kerk.

Jasper Brand born 1710 born 1710 13 baptized 26 January 1710, Cape Town 14 Fredrik Brand 15 born 1712 born 1712 16 baptized 1 May 1712, Cape Town 17 Notes: I have guessed the name - only the 'edrik' is visible on the document. Elsje Sophia Brand 18 born 1715 born 1715 19 baptized 10 March 1715, Cape Town 20 Notes: It seems that on 22nd December 1721, as an orphan, she was place by the Weeskamer with Jan Arend Rodewalt, as he was asked on the 22nd February 1722 about his promise on that dated to take her. Her replied that his wife had not allowed it and told him to get rid of the child. He had therefore taken her to her grandfather, Floris Slabbert.  married Gerrit Visser 21 Huijbregie Brand 22 born 1717 born 1717, at the Cape 23 baptized 13 May 1717, Cape Town 24 Notes: Her name appears with that of her husband on the reverse side of the Inventory receipt with a note of what they received out of the estate of Floris Slabbert. I have assumed that she was one of the five children of Neeltje Slabbert. The inventory dated September 1764, drawn up after the death of Pieter Slabbert, her uncle, gives her then hubsband as Adolf Brits (Huijbregtje Brand vr van Adolf Brits).  married 16 August 1733 Cape Town 26 Juri Christoffel Smit 25 soldier in service of the Dutch East India Company (1733) 27 born Hamburg 28
