In 1723, Jacobus stated that he had been
employed four months at the pay office and requested
permanent employment with the Dutch East India Co.

In 1735 (apparently) he was put forward as the lessee
of a branch tap (liquor store?) by the lessee of the
Cape wine and brandy, Carel Boetendag.

According to De Villiers/Pama, Geslagsregister
van die ou Kaapse Families, his widow, Margareta
Plooij married Johannes de Bruyns in 1738, so he
died before that presumably.
