Notes: He appears as one of the team responsible for maintaining the
roads and drifts in the area 'Beyond the Olifants Rivier, from the
farm of Jacob Mouton the elder as far as [that of] Barend Lubbe
the younger' dated 1770 to 1773. (Cape Archives: 1 STB 19/133)

On 19th February 1763 he was granted 'Grazing at Onrust, over
the Sak River', perhaps a loan farm, or perhaps just temporary
grazing. Further grants were made in 1771 and 1782
(Cape Archives, RLR 17/2, 349, RLR 21/2, 351 and RLR 28, 79)
