Notes: Cillié Burger writes: John William Eric Adkins was a doctor and died of
"Die Groot Griep", which I assume is the influenza pandemic of 1918/19.
His son, Eric, died shortly afterwards due to the same pandemic.
What seems to be unknown is that John William Eric Adkins's wife, Elizabeth
Johanna Goedhals, was already pregnant with their daughter, Bess Jeanie
Adkins (born 16 May 1919, died 14 April 2002). This daughter married a doctor
(like her deceased father) Johannes Daniël Serfontein Joubert. They had three
daughters and a son, Serfontein Adkins Joubert, who married Jeanne Morgan.
