The will of Samuel Cockell was made 1757 and proved 1760.

There was also Samuel Cockell, the son of Ralph Cockell, whose
will this might well have been. He did have a daughter Mary but
she seems not to have been married to a Pile and none of that
Ralph's sons are mentioned in this will.

In addition, none of the sons of Ralph Cockle who made wills
made any mention of their brother Thomas Cockell who is men-
tioned in this will only.

None of this is conclusive, merely speculative.
