will dated 15 September 1558 1
and proved 26 January 1558/59, Lewes, Sussex
Notes:
In his will, dated 15th September 1558, which is all the evidence we
have for his existence, he states that he is a fisherman of All Saints
Parish in Hastings, and he bequeaths his soul 'unto almighty god and
to our blessed Lady and to all the holy company of heaven' and he
asks to be buried in All Saints churchyard.

He leaves the house in which he lives to his wife, Annis, for her life,
and after her death to his youngest son Henry Ball or, if he not survive,
to his son Robert Ball, and failing him to Christopher Ball (relationship
not mentioned). He also leaves fishing nets and a pewter plate each to
his two sons and the rest of his goods to his wife.
