The inventory , drawn up in 1771, after his death, lists minimal
possessions and no farm at all, but does include a wagon, a
wagon tent, 22 wagon oxen (trekossen), 13 horses, 67 sheep,
5 male slaves, September van Bougies, David van Madagascar,
Adam van Madagascar, Augustus van Mallabaar and Rotterdam
van Mallabaar, and 1 female slave, Francina van Madagascar.

Were they perhaps trekboeren, moving with their stock and family
as the grazing permitted?
