The Charles who was granted freedom of Norwich in 1781 would seem to be the same Charles who married Sarah Maxey in Norwich in 1780. At least two children, Charles and John match and they were born after 1781 when this Charles obtained his freedom of the city (if your children were to acquire the freedom of the city by right of father, then the father need to have obtained it before the children were born) ?
