Notes:
In the years 1711 and 1712 he was employed as a farm hand (knegt)
by the farmer Willem Elbertsz at Stellenbosch at the Moddergat.
(attestation to the Stellenbosch Landdrost, Cape Archive 1-STB 18-156,
p. 96, dated 29th January 1714). He signed his statement with his mark.

He is noted as the first husband of Elisabeth Vivier in the inventory of
her estate (1730) and the father of her child, Maria Magdalena Eekhof
aged 9 years old.

In an entry in the Estate Accounts of Cicilia Datis dated September 1723
he is decribed as the late husband of Elisabeth Vivier.I have assumed
that he is the same as Matthijs Hendrik Eekhof, the son of Maria Lafebre.
